Last updated: 2026-03-03App version: 1.0+

Overview

If you collect sports cards and want to know what your collection is worth, stay organized, and track market trends β€” this guide is for you. No eBay selling required.

Step 1: Create Your Account

  1. Go to app.rocketvault.io and click Start Free Trial
  2. Sign up with email or Google
  3. Start with the Free plan (100 cards, no credit card required) or go straight to Collector ($14/mo) for unlimited AI and full analytics

Step 2: Upload Your Cards

The fastest way to digitize your collection:

  1. Click Upload in the sidebar
  2. Single cards β€” Take a photo of the front (and optionally back) and upload
  3. Batch upload β€” Put multiple card photos in a ZIP file and upload them all at once (Collector plan: 50 per batch)
  4. RocketAI identifies each card automatically β€” player, set, year, card number, parallel, and more
πŸ’‘

Naming Convention

Name your photos with _F and _B suffixes to pair front and back images automatically. Example: trout_F.jpg and trout_B.jpg.

Step 3: Review and Organize

After upload, cards go to your inventory. Some may land in the Needs Review queue if the AI wasn't 100% confident:

  1. Check the Needs Review page for flagged cards
  2. Verify or correct any fields the AI was unsure about
  3. Approve cards to move them to your main inventory

Organize with Collections

Create collections to group your cards:

  • "My PC" (personal collection)
  • "2024 Topps Chrome"
  • "Yankees"
  • "Graded Cards"

See Collections & Wishlist for details.

Tag Your Cards

Use tags for flexible categorization:

  • Source: "Card Show March 2026", "Hobby Box"
  • Status: "Send to Grade", "Trade Bait"

Free plan includes 5 tags. Collector includes 50.

Step 4: Know What Your Cards Are Worth

Every card gets automatic pricing from the RocketVault Pricing Database:

  • Market Price β€” Current estimated value
  • Price Source β€” Where the price came from (RocketVault DB, eBay, or Rules)
  • Confidence Score β€” How reliable the price estimate is

Multi-Source Pricing

On the Collector plan, you get unlimited multi-source pricing β€” prices pull from the RocketVault DB first, then eBay market data, with confidence scores so you know how reliable each price is.

Track Your Portfolio Value

The Dashboard shows your total collection value, top cards, and trends over time. Collector plan adds P&L tracking and AI insights.

Step 5: Monitor the Market

Use Market Intelligence to stay ahead of trends:

Heat Score

See which of your cards are "hot" right now β€” get 0-100 scores with Sell Now, Hold, or Grade & Sell recommendations. Even if you're not selling, it's valuable to know when cards spike.

Deal Finder

Looking to buy? Deal Finder scans live eBay listings to find cards priced below market value β€” with deal scores, discount percentages, and direct buy links.

Watchlist

Track specific cards and set price alerts. Get notified when a card you're interested in hits your target price.
