Collections
Organize your cards into custom collections under My Collection. Create, rename, recolor, and delete collections inline — your cards stay in inventory either way.
Overview
Collections let you organize your cards into custom groups under My Collection in the sidebar. Use them to separate personal from for-sale, group by sport or player, or track sets you're building.
Collections are managed entirely from the Collection page (/collection). The page has a card-style picker for switching between collections, and inline edit/delete controls so you don't have to dig into a separate settings screen.
Where Collection lives
In the sidebar, My Collection is its own group with two items:
- Owned Cards (
/collection) — your collections of cards you own - Wishlist (
/wishlist) — cards you want to acquire (see the Wishlist guide)
The Collection page shows every collection you have at the top, then the cards inside the currently-selected one below. Switching collections is one click.
Creating a collection
Step 01
Open Collection
Navigate to My Collection → Owned Cards in the sidebar.
Step 02
Click New Collection
Hit the New Collection button. A modal opens with name, description, and color fields.
Step 03
Pick a name and color
Enter a name (e.g., "My PC", "2024 Topps Chrome", "Yankees Team Lot"), an optional description, and pick from one of the eight preset colors. The color drives the tile background and folder icon, so it's a visual cue when you're switching between several collections.
Step 04
Save
Click Create. The new collection shows up in the picker immediately.
Adding cards to a collection
You can add cards to any collection in three ways:
- From the Collection page — Open a collection and click Add Cards. A modal opens with your full inventory, a search bar, and filters (sport, status, year range, price range, rookie/parallel/graded/auto toggles). Select cards and click Add.
- From a card detail page — Click Add to Collection and pick which collection.
- From the Catalog — Both the Search Cards page and the Set Detail page have a folder icon on every row. Clicking it opens the same Add to Collection modal.
A single card can belong to multiple collections at once.
Editing and deleting
Hover any collection tile in the picker to reveal two icons:
- Pencil icon — edits the name, description, and color in place. Same modal as Create, just preloaded with the current values.
- Trash icon — deletes the collection. Cards inside are not deleted — they stay in your inventory, they just lose this grouping. There's a confirm dialog so you can't fat-finger it.
The default collection (the one with a star badge) cannot be edited or deleted. It's the catch-all for cards added directly from the catalog without picking a specific collection.
Note
Deleting a collection removes the grouping only. Your cards remain in your main inventory and any other collections they belong to.
What you see inside a collection
Each collection shows:
- Card grid — thumbnail, player, year, set, and price for every card
- Pagination — 50 cards per page
- Per-card link — click any thumbnail to open that card's detail page
- Total card count — shown on the collection tile
Pricing on each card uses the suggested price from RocketVault Pricing.
